Iron as new from eBay leaking water & broken plug

I bought an iron (Tefal FV2663) which was described as Used, but still in very good condition.
I looked at the picture and agreed it looked good which is why I bought it (They didn't show the plug!) a few days later it arrived.
When I opened the box I noticed that the plug was broken. Well, I thought, no big issue I can easily replace this, so I tried the iron first filling the tank1/3 -1/2 full with water.
What happened then was if I tilted the iron either forward or back the water started pouring out and I mean pouring as if from a vase, surely this cannot be normal?

I have had a few irons over the years and used a good few belonging to other people, but never witnessed this, please view photos and video clip and give an opinion.

Thank you.

Hugh

If it's leaking water like that it's not in very good condition.

Just open a return on eBay selecting that the item is defective and the seller will have to give you a label to return it for a full refund.

Plug change is an easy fix (and in the absence of other faults, would be my response too), but the eBay seller is a fool for supplying it in that dangerous condition in the first place. It's not like they could say they hadn't noticed. Worth reporting.

I would be lodging a SNAD claim in Paypal (if that is how you paid), especially if this is a business seller they are probably breaking some electrical safety regulation by selling the iron with a broken plug.
