i would be grateful if you could give me an idea of what feedback to leave
a few days after i sold an item a buyer opened an un item not recieved dispute with ebay
i explained to them that they had not given time for the cheque to clear and as soon as it did i sent the item to them
they have given me positive feedback so should i do the same or mention the dispute in feedback and give neutral or negative..

Did they explain why they opened the dispute? i.e. could it have been meant for another seller or something?
Assuming it worked out ok in the end for you and you didn't lose out at all if it was me I think I'd be inclined to give a neutral and explain why but I'm sure others will difffer.0 -
it sounds to me like they didn't have a clue what they were doing; what was their feedback like - have they been ebaying for a while?
I think a neutral would be ok, a neg going too far.0 -
You have up to 90 days to leave feedback so perhaps just try keep in contact with the buyer and don't leave anything yet! What reason have they given ebay to open the dispute? I can't see how they don't know what they are doing as they have to enter your item number and their password also a reason for opening the dispute! but as someone else suggested it is probably for the wrong person.

they are quite new to ebay as they only have a feedback of 14 but as well as opening a dispute with me they emailed me several time asking where the item was
and when i replied explaining that i do not send things out until payment has cleared... (which i also told them when giving payment instructions!) i got this reply
hey, yeh im sorry bout dat, bout it would of been nice of you to tell me about da situation, neway
thanks for getting back to me!
sounds like young person to me!! but i could be wrongreach for the moon because even if you miss you will still be a star!0 -
You dont have to leave feedback - its not compulsory - its completely voluntary.
He hasn't done anything to justify a neg or neut - being thick isn't an excuse!
And he certainly doesn't warrant a pos - so don't do anything. Just ignore it and be happy!!0 -
Was it an English course that you sold them ? :rotfl:They say that football is a religion, if this is true I worship at the Exacta Stadium, Chester0

I'd be inclined not to leave any feedback, on the basis 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all'!One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other0

I'd say the opposite - if you can say nice stuff, it doesn't matter.DaisyNelson wrote:I'd be inclined not to leave any feedback, on the basis 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all'!
But if you only have bad things to say they should be said to protect other customers.
In this case, I reckon either leave it or a pos. They haven't actually done anything wrong?Proud to have become an Ocean Rower in 2010 (crossed the Atlantic in a crew of 4 ladies and had the best 77 days of my life!)0 -
I also think there is a lesson to be learnt here by the OP. Keep your buyers informed throughout the transaction! A lot of new buyers are nervous about buying on the internet never mind eBay. Just a quick email acknowledging that you have received their payment and will be sending the item out on clearance of payment would avoided this situation. From a buyers point of view there is nothing worse than a silent seller! I've been eBaying over 5 years now (both buying and selling). As a buyer I like to be kept informed and as a seller I always mantain a constant communication with my buyers.
On the feedback front I tend to agree with the other Posters. They don't deserve bad feedback as they are newbies afterall. But for the inconvienence they have caused, I'm not sure whether I could leave a positive either."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0
