My edf fixed tariff ends soon, the SVR and fixed rates offered are very similar, some more than the SVR. Apart from the obvious what’s the benefit of fixing? Is this a change by suppliers to claw back the profits from SVR?

The price cap is likely to be increased in April. Announcement due next month I believe. Wholesale prices have increased plus increased costs due to covid.0
