NOTES:-
^^^^^^^^
HI,
in October 2012 I had a TV Ariel fitted to my roof, by a professional TV ariel installation firm.
4 years later, (2016), the ariel fell off the pole, on the roof, so I contacted the same firm & they came & fitted another one!
Now 4+ years later, (now), the same things happened & the ariel has fallen off the pole on the roof! Aaarrrggh, I could scream!
Now I've asked everyone down my street, how long they've had their ariels up & they all range from 10 to 20+ years, without a problem!
Surely this isn't right! It comes across as every amateurish!
Thanks

Get a different fitter, and explain to them that your aerial keeps falling down.1

So break the pattern. If you keep going back to that company and the aerial falls down after four years, find somebody else. No shortage of people who can do them.

Either the aerials were seriously substandard, or incompetently fitted (or both). Out of interest, what did they say when you called them back in after the first one came down?0

First aerial 40 plus years , second aerial 3 months due to wind .

Have you looked at whether you can get a good signal from an aerial fitted in the loft? Roof mounted aerials are exposed to quite severe conditions; they and their cables are much better protected in a loft. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

Mine is in the loft. It has an amplifier connected in the loft and its corresponding part plugged in by the TV0

I had a company in when we had the chimney removed and needed another aerial (Old one was there when we moved in 20 years ago). They suggested a loft aerial, I was a bit dubious, the fitter went into the loft with some test equipment and said the signal would be fine. He fitted a new loft aerial, bolted to one of the inner struts.
It's been great since, with perfect reception even though we watch less and less linear TV.
If you were to go down that route, I would find a different company to the one that fitted your roof aerial for advice.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

OP has asked exactly the same Q on another forum with the same incorrect spelling of the word Aerial
In Hull using the Belmont transmitter.
I've replied that he needs a better installer and directed to ATV aerials useful free knowledge base https://www.aerialsandtv.com/knowledge
Loft aerial unlikely to be good enough as field strength prediction is low.0
