Easy car rental (Easy group)

Options
This is being written on behalf of my (slightly) misinformed mother:

Went for a short 3 day holiday to Germany this week. Flew from Liverpool airport to Basel airport in Switzerland. Had ordered, and paid for, a rental car online via - http://www.easycar.com/nossl/OurTandC.aspx - total cost £90+ for the 3 days. Paid in full with Visa Debit card at booking stage.

Got to Basel airport and went to collect the car and was told that couldn't have the car as she doesn't have a valid credit card: note - the payment had already been made a week beforehand. So was told to ring up some customer service number to find out about a refund.

She got home last night, and rang up the number she was given, only to be told she wasn't entitled to a refund because it says on the website that you need a credit card - even though it has been paid for in full already..

So now she looks to be nearly £100 out of pocket when she didn't even see the car, let alone step foot inside it.

Anything she can do?

Cheers

Unfortunately I would say probably not.

The CC isn't for payment of the rental, it's for the deposit against damage etc.
