Ticketplan Insurance

We booked Ticketplan insurance for our visit to Lapland UK. As the site was closed due to Covid, we've had a refund from Lapland for the tickets. However the travel insurance from Ticketplan is not being refunded by them. Is this right? Has anyone else had a refund from them? They must have made a mint with no risk!

Did you buy it from Lapland, or separately?

As with any travel insurance you were covered from the date you bought the insurance until the trip was cancelled.0

Hi, it was bought as part of the booking process. It's not travel insurance, but event booking insurance - covers last minute hitches, eg car breakdown, train cancellation etc on the day if the event. However if the event is cancelled, weeks before, then this is a service that cannot be provided or used?0

Insurance is always a grey area. Many insist that once the 14 day cooling off period has passed then you will not be refunded. In your case it does sound like there may be grounds for a refund as it was specifically for the one event. The money has probably been passed on by the organisers. No harm in querying it with the insurance company but wouldn’t hold my breath. Good luck.0

It appears this insurance is so that the agent can refund you by claiming on the insurance.
