The claim is with the courier, why can't you claim from them? The photos are evidence it was damaged in transit.
It depends how things are specified, most courier policies exclude damage to items which are "inadequately packaged", they also often have a low insurance value unless additional insurance had been purchased and a value declared pre-shipping.

What was the reason for the return OP?

Opposite way round but I bought a sink & pedestal from the same company & it took 4 deliveries to get a pedestal that wasn't smashed on delivery (luckily it was clear to the couriers that all was not well on delivery because of the tinkling noise the boxes made when moved).

My point is that even if it was returned packaged the same way it was delivered that the chances of breakage are not negligable.
Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???

Don't ever deal with Victoria Plumb they are dreadful. All our stuff has shoddy connections and had to pay the plumber extra to get new ones and the time he spent. Customer service the worst I've ever dealt with. It's just a chat box no phone number.

I may be lacking imagination, but what would you do with the badly cracked sink if they still had it and you did pay the shipping to get it back to you again?
