DiscountsforTeachers prepaid card

Morning everyone,
Sorry if this is in the wrong place - but I am new to the forum. I am employed as a teacher and have come across a website called discountsforteachers.com - I signed up for their free card which allows cashback from certain retailers (ie 3% from Sainsburys) is there any of teachers out there that use this? or could anyone explain just how it works? All I see is that I need to top up my card and eventually some funds will appear depending on how much I spend?

Thanks
Scott

Looks like it's a prepaid Visa card that you top up on a regular basis, then get cashback added when you spend at certain stores

Any cashback due is added to the balance when you top up it seems (I guess that makes sense from an admin perspective, rather than adding after every single cashback-generating purchase).
If you shop at some of these places, want an easier solution than individual gift cards with top-up discounts elsewhere (where the discounts might be only marginally better) and don't mind the prepaid aspect of it, the cashback card isn't a bad option.
The main risk is if the company supplying the card goes bust. Cashback rates could also change at short/no notice of course, so worth keeping an eye on if you were making a large purchase.
