Hi All
So the middle support rail on our king size bed has snapped!! The bed itself is in great nick so I don't want to get a new bed so was thinking of getting a new middle rail made.
Has anyone used any online places for this previously or can they recommend anywhere?

I assume it's just a length of wood. Go to any diy store, pick out a piece of timber of the same dimensions and get it cut to size.1

As above but many double and king size beds have additional legs beneath central support in order to take the strain you might be able to attach these using brackets. If you do not feel confident with diy skills attach photos of problem for further advice.1

Thanks both, I'll have a look.0

Even sturdy timber beams have a bit of spring in them and can warp/sag over time, so adding that extra central leg is a very good idea - I think you'll be surprised how it stiffens things up (matron!). I did that recently to our bed. It'll also mean that you'll get away with a thinner timber section for that rail. Just make sure the leg has a nice flat base to sit on, especially if it's on carpet - one of these furniture castor cup thingies is ideal. In fact, if you add this extra leg (pretty much anything will do; a short piece of 2x1, a cut section of a wardrobe rail...) you will be able to repair the existing snapped bean - a timber fillet glued and screwed to either side - and reuse it. Did the break happen near the middle? Cool - that'll be where the leg goes.1

Thanks for the tips guys, just phoned my local merchant & they can deliver tomorrow!!
Will have a look at the support leg as it was indeed in the centre that it broke!1
