Can’t tax car

@Jenni_D @AdrianC Yes, I think I’ll wait until the end of the month when hopefully the new TEC is showing. It’s just stressful worrying that there will be a crossover period where I can’t drive until all this gets sorted out. The lady on the phone said I should be able to tax it now, even with the current TEC so if the new TEC isn’t recognised either, I’m stuck with the same problem.1

I’m in exactly (almost) the same position, with the TEC showing as expiring at the end of January but not eligible to book an MOT as my vehicle is too old for the tests they are currently conducting (which seems an odd way to do it). Fortunately, my tax doesn’t expire until March but if the TEC doesn’t update, I could be in the same position, a car that I can’t legally drive as it will show as having no MOT.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j1

By way of a quick update, my MOT status has now updated to the end of March so I’ve got another couple of months. Hopefully yours has now updated too.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j2

Do you have a link to details of the MOT extension in Lockdown 3 as I can find no details and it was stated as MOT stations are open as normal, no extension was required.Money_Grabber13579 said:By way of a quick update, my MOT status has now updated to the end of March so I’ve got another couple of months. Thank you 😁. Yes, mine has now been updated too, until the end of March. I did the tax online and it went through fine this time. I’m very relieved.Money_Grabber13579 said:By way of a quick update, my MOT status has now updated to the end of March so I’ve got another couple of months. Hopefully yours has now updated too.1
