Replacement wheel for aged Yaris
I need a replacement front wheel for my Yaris (2003, 1.0 ) but am confused by the sizing.
The tyre is 175/65 R14 82T and all the manuals say my model would have either 13 or 14 inch tyres.
Yet, no matter how I measure it, my wheel has a 15 inch diameter!
Am I doing something very obviously wrong?

The tyre size suggests a 14" wheel.1

Thank you, @williamgriffin - that was my thought, before I got the tape measure out.0

If your tyre is R14, then you have 14" wheels. The 14" is the hole in the centre of the tyre, the wheel has flanges about 1/2" deep to keep it on, so rim to rim is about 15"There are other numbers to worry about , like offset, rim width and dimensions of the hub hole and the studs, but a 14" Yaris wheel will be right.( I've no idea how to measure pushbike wheels though, my tyres are 26", which is sort of maybe the nominal diameter of the tyre- nothing to do with the wheel! )I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

On the inside of the wheel there should be a stamp showing the actual size. It'll be something like 5.5Jx14 ET45 which shows the rim width, diameter and offset. In any case you if your tyre is R14 then you can't have anything other than a 14" wheel.Frith said:Thank you, @williamgriffin - that was my thought, before I got the tape measure out.1
