Nmlc thank you for today’s thread, happy birthday, enjoy your take away later
Hester I would have cried too, so hard for you.. Ruby thinking of you and the task you and your sister have in front of you on Friday. Marie I hope your consultation is still available, do understand you keeping things to yourself for a little while. Topsy after reading of your isolation it has made me think about a few things I might add to my preps “just in case” Dp1 fingers crossed for your DD’s continued recovery
Hard frost, very white and pretty, not forecast to be above -4 all morning. Just heard that a vaccination centre is scheduled to be created at our little hospital. Had a snowy walk with OH and Ddog yesterday 2.25 miles. Right knee is protesting today, so will have to be a shorter one later if not too slippery.
I have been through the fridge and listed things to be used up, need to be creative with meals and perhaps bake a cake.
Have a good day all, hugs and spoons available.

Morning everyone
Happy birthday NMLC!
Taff – I giggled at your “Im winter ready baby”! - I feel like we are all preparing for hibernation!
I am on a training course for work today (from home) so I have been up early getting organised and have prepped lunch and also had a little clean around so that I can then relax and concentrate on the course. I really struggle working from home if I know there are jobs to be done – although there are always jobs to be done so I just try and keep on top of the basics!
Cottage pie for lunch although I couldn’t find any veg to go with it apart from frozen peas so they will need to do!
This evening can be something on toast.
I will have my porridge soon which I am still really enjoying on these cold mornings. I couldn’t see whether it was a heavy frost or a sprinkle of snow this morning but either way it is very cold!
I have been thinking of you Ruby and really hope you are all coming to terms with things – sending you all some virtual strength.

Good morning from a sunny but freezing looking place. Heard the boiler come on during the night so the temperature must have dropped below freezing.
We have news here that DH may now phone to make a C19 vaccination booking but getting through is a different story as they are so busy. Our local hospital was chosen as a Pfizer hub so that's why this is happening.
Other than that I don't plan to go out today and have just mentally sorted our meals through until Tuesday. Will need to get milk at some point but very little else. Tonight will be spaghetti bolognaise and I'll make enough to have it again on Saturday. Sunday's roast will be a pack of pigs in blankets with all the accompaniments!
So, on with the knitting and I may well do some dusting and hoovering later and possibly make a cake this afternoon.
Enjoy your day13 -
Morning all
Up and out early for me for a dressing change at the hosp all going well but just slowly. There is a sharp frost here this morning it could almost look like snow if you squint !!
We have bought forward telling mum to today, she phoned me last night and was so worried about my brother she said he looks dreadful and is not eating much at all she is trying to 'feed him up' to make him better so she needs to know, my sister and I will go there at 1 and brother is coming to sit here for an hour, he doesnt want us to be at mums when he comes back as I think he does not want us to see him crying with mum :'( so we will text him and go a different way back from him, its so hard for him as he also has to tell his children this weekend. Its going to be such a hard day and the hardest thing we have ever had to do, thank you all for the thoughts they really do mean such a lot xx (we are probably breaking all sorts of lockdown rules doing it like this but I cant think of another way, I am not shouting the news from the end of her driveway so so be it )
Not sure about dinner and even if we will fancy eating but there is mince for a spag bol if we want it.
Take care of yourselves xxx15 -
Sorry meant to say Happy Birthday to NMLC xx10

Morning all.
Nothing interesting to say today. Still waiting to hear about a Covid jab. The nineties seem to have had their first one, though all the dates for the second have been cancelled. Hopefully the eighties will be next.
Will have to brave the cold today as some forms have to be posted off, but other than that there doesn't seem to be anything that HAS to be done today. As I only do things that HAVE to be done immediately, I foresee a lot of reading and knitting are on the cards.
I made far too much lunch yesterday, so the leftovers can be rejigged today with a jacket potato.
Stay warm and safe everyone.

Morning all (I joined for the first time yesterday!)
Nelksi - 2 zoom calls 3 hours each is a bit much - our teams calls are usually an hour and sometimes back to back but you need a break in the middle. I can't sit that long without needing to move !!
Groundhog day again, up and breakfasted (yesterdays HM bread and marmalade !) but I will soon need to pluck up the motivation to go back to intermittent fasting as I have added 28 pounds since last september and its not feeling good! running is hard at the moment (I run/walk with the dog) but it is just too icy to contemplate today. and I am still craving carbs!
I have a click and collect food shop booked for next Tues but we are really low on some essentials (cat food, milk and down to last egg!) so going to have to brave the shop at some point (probably morr!sons late on and see if any YS items as well as what we need, I would love to do an ald! shop but too risky driving (about 9 miles away) plus its a real free for all with no social distancing whenever I have been so may try a late night if it warms up!
Have put washing on and hoovered top stairs and bread is proving, just need to cook some chicken legs (making a chicken and ham pie with chicken legs from freezer, ham from weekend and some LO puff pastry that didn't get used over Xmas - you can see why my waistline is filling out lol!! Once all the food is used up I can get back to higher protein/lower carb meals but at the moment I want to save every penny we can
Hope everyone has a great not so chilly day and I will check in later

Morning all, just lost a long post grrr ! Think my laptop is cold too and throwing a wobbly
Short version now. Blummin cold here -3, but the sun is out. Got my heavy 'van fleece blanket out yesterday to cuddle under as nothing work wise will need doing today. I will make a crumble for tea later though as there are some sad apples in the bowl, I'll add a tin of mangoes to bulk it out. Found a hm curry in the freezer so will cook some rice too, tea sorted !I did a store cupboard check last night on top of the freezer one, so now I know exactly what I need to order for next week and then I'll also have a web wander for new meal ideas this afternoon.NMLC happy Birthday. Hope you have a lovely day and enjoy your takeaway.dp1 I hope your DD gets home today and can start her recovery asap.RedRuby hope today goes as well as it can. Sending many hugs to you all.Samhartwell. Hello and welcome, looking forward to getting to know you.Monna my Dad is still waiting for his vaccination, he's 91 and has a chronic chest problem. Morning all,
Snow overnight, not much but enough to keep the roads slippery, glad I don't have to go hospital, hopefully will be able to record discussion so that we will know exactly what is said by whom.
Happy birthday nmlc, have a good day.
Ruby.....I hope that your day is not too bad for you all, your mother already has an idea about how sick your brother is, she will naturally be very upset to hear it said out loud.
Hugs to everybody who is not well or looking after sick loved ones.
Stay safe.
Marie

Afternoon all
Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
I'm late today as Beano decided he as need a long walk. I have the immersion heater on for an hour to hear the water, once it's not I'll turn the immersion off so I can run the vacuum round. When I've finished I will out the washing machine on, I can't run everything at once.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
