Amazon Subscribe and Save loophole closed

Hey,
I guess you guys may be more savvy - and this may be old news? But I couldn't find it through a google search.
It seems Amazon have changed their Subscribe and Save deal
Used to be 5% off for 1 - 4 different items in one order, and 15% if you have 5 or more in the order.
Now, on the first delivery it's only ever 5% off. It's only when you get to the second [and further] deliveries that you get 15% off.
I very rarely use sub and save. But I always just did one order, and added cheap stuff 50p or £1 each - to get 15% off the two or three things I actually wanted. Then I would cancel the order once I got the first order. To protect myself from the prices going up and paying a load more the next month. Well, that 'scheme' of mine is no longer any good.
The wording is a little obtuse. Just in the way it says 5% off today, and 15% of future deliveries. I mean it seems obvious now... but I was trying to work out - if I grouped five items and they were coming in a week... was that today? I mean Amazon don't take the money until delivery do they? And I guess I was used to the old system, so just couldn't be sure if it was, as it read. Anyway - I contacted Amazon, on chat, and they confirmed [obviously] it is, as written... max 5% on first delivery.
I guess that means I will only order the items I actually want, and only get 5% off... and then cancel before the next order. Yikes.
Just thought it was worth mentioning - in case others missed this. And as the discounts might include vouchers you have - some people may not have noticed the change. Also I made this post, as I would be interested to know when this change came in, and if there are any threads - or info / articles about the change. I think it was brought in for people like me. Although I probably only used this 'gaming' of the system once every 18 months or so myself. I can image other did it a lot more, and Amazon want to use the promotion to reward those that do sub and save, and forget, and get hit with price increases.
Anyway end of my long ramble... any thoughts or comments would be most welcome... even if just telling me I'm a chump and you all knew x months ago.
