Permitted Development?

Hi, I am looking for some advice to whether the following house extension would be covered under permitted development or not. I have read conflicting info saying all front extensions are not but also heard they can be depending on the distance to the main road.
I have made a simple illustration of it. Forgive the poor quality of it

Yellow - House boundary
Red- this is the front extension I want to do. Currently the ground storey overhangs by about 2m but the full width of the front, Approx 2/3 of it. I want to 'fill' this gap therefore making the front seamless.
The distance of the house to the main road is approx 14m.
Will this be covered under permitted development or do i need permission?

Is it going to be a porch?Porches are allowed under PD if they're under a certain square meterage - I think it's 3?But even if you did need planning, there's no way the infill would be turned down. It's not even really an extension...Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

No its not a porch, sorry I forgot to mention that.
The infill would be part of the living room.0 -
Then it probably wouldn't be permitted development and you'd have to make an application, but some pre-app advice might be helpful because it would have so little visual impact that it would be virtually guaranteed approval - unless you did something really strange with the visual appearance of it.330d said:No its not a porch, sorry I forgot to mention that.

The slight issue I have got is, I have already applied for planning for the other side extension I am planning. I am 5 weeks into this and the target date is 1st Feb.
What I don't want to do is amend that application with this new change as I don't want that application going back to the beginning again. So would it be better to do a separate application for the infill job?0 -
Can you ask your architect if they can sneak it in as a non-material amendment to the existing application?I don't think planning departments are dealing with things in a particularly timely manner and they probably haven't even looked at it yet, if they're anything like the local authorities near us.They might be able to whack it in on the planning portal without much notice being paid.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I think the application has progressed as it has received a couple of positive responses from the the local authority and it has been assigned a planning officer.0 -

Any other views on what... the PD situation? If so, it’s as mentioned above. The only PD front extension that can be carried out is a porch, which is limited to 3sq.m in external footprint and 3m in height. The porch would need to be over the (original) front door too. Any other front extension would require formal Planning approval.
Whether the LPA would accept such an amendment at this stage of the determination process is another thing. My opinion would be no because it’s a front extension, would change the street scene and would introduce additional bulk.
Either you or your architect/agent would need to speak to the LPA for their advice.0
