we went on holiday to Morocco on the 14th of March 2020 2 days later they started to shut the hotel down food was cut down to a minimum you couldn't go in the swimming pool the bar shut at 7 and there was no entertainment I've been arguing with the agency for the past 10 months over a refund they have offered £500 between 4 of us they are trying to say that the flights cost the most when I said to them that Ryanair and easyJet were the two cheapest Airlines they are trying to say that the flight cost £1,850 and the hotel only cost 800 and something pound for four of us all inclusive for two weeks.

The rule of thumb with most fly n flop packages is that flights are about 2/3 of the total cost.
The cost of accommodation and food in Morocco (and Spain, and Turkey ...) is pretty low.
£15pppn is well within the bounds of normal.
If the agent is a member of ABTA you can use the ABTA arbitration service but there is a cost.1 -
Do you have an itemised breakdown of the separate flight and accommodation charges ?As explained above, the major element of a package or DIY holiday is the return flight, not the hotel costs. That's why a 14 night deal is significantly less than twice the price of the same 7 night holiday.0

What is the sum you are expecting? If you are going to argue you need the facts about the difference between what you expected and what you got and you need to give them a sum that you expect to cover that. You had the flights, transfers and the room, cleaning and food. I do understand where you're coming from because it must have been really disappointing but if it cost £200 pp and they are offering £125 back that seems quite good.I've persued a holiday that was not as described and we were lucky to get back alive from. It took 9mts of hard work and I got half the cost of the trip. No one else on the tour did.You can keep at them but you will be doing it for another £75 each? Is it worth time and getting in a state for?
