house bought off the council

Hi we bought a house off the council back in 2007 never had any problems until now with new neighbours moving in they are saying that we have no access to our back garden but it clearly shows on the deeds from the council that we have.

So I guess you just reply to the new neighbours that you do have access.
If you want, I guess you can also show them a copy of the deeds confirming it.

Copy the relevant part of your title plan/docs and give it to them. Be nice.It worked for me in slightly different circumstances. Even if your new neighbours aren't nice, they'll know they've met their match.2

We have done that but they are having none of it they are saying that the land was bought with the previous owners but we had access to back garden for nearly 20yrs i have checked the land registry for other property's and they are all the same as mine.Davesnave said:Copy the relevant part of your title plan/docs and give it to them. Have they explained why they are "having none of it"? Have they shown you (or have you obtained) their titles?vonnie63 said:

We had the council come and try and mediate and he asked to see the documents showing the purchase of the land as the council have no records.0

They're saying you cannot cross their garden to get to yours? Presumably, there's an alleyway or similar which you're accessing from?

She never produced any but has put a fence so we can't get to the back0

We had a walkway to the back but when the previous owner asked us if he could monobloc the whole space including our walkway0
