An elderly relative loved reading. Now having vision problems. I've wondered about an E reader with adjustable font size. Needs to be easy to operate. Budget up to, around £100. Birthday coming soon. Ideas appreciated.

Do they want to pay for books or read the many free ones out there?
I use an old Kobo for free ones and my Amazon fire tablet for those I have to purchase. Both easy to use and read with clear print with backlight and size adjustment.1 -
Kindle. I'm 70 and have had one for years. It's just the basic model and very easy to operate. I've been really happy with it and you can get some really cheap books on amazon too.
Also, as knightstyle says, there's the option of using a tablet - or even a laptop, in which case you can make the font very very large indeed . . . so much help out there now for we oldies! There's even the option of adding audio to your books, if sight is a problem.
Our local library also has an e-library lending section, so I expect your relative's library does too. They're free to borrow for the same time as ordinary books and you can borrow some magazines too.

Don't forget Google Assistant devices (Nest mini etc)(google play books) or Alexa (audible) will read books aloud. Maybe useful if their eyesight deteriorates further.

I have had Kindle with keyboard, Kindle paperwhite and now Kindle Fire 10" tablet.
I prefer the width of the tablet for reading. Also, my bluetooth headset connects for Youtube.0 -
+1 for the kindle paperwhite... with one reservation. While you can adjust the font size of the main text, there is some surrounding information (particularly the %read , which is roughly the equivalent of page number) which stays at a microscopic font, and needs a magnifying glass.0
