KLM refund request - how on earth do you get a response?

Last year we booked with KLM to travel Newcastle to Bologna in March 2021 however I noticed the first flight (Ncle to Paris with Air France) now shows as cancelled. Obviously that means the remaining flights need to be cancelled but I am scared to do so as whether you get a refund or voucher depends on who cancels the flights. I just think it is easier to cancel the others now and look to rebook the whole trip again. I have tried to contact KLM via twitter to ask the question but am just sent links which take me back in  a loop yet again. Any advice anyone?

Ring them. Or wait for KLM to contact you. They are most likely working through cancelled flights in a structured manner. Earliest first , flight by flight.

I had a similar issue May 2020 with KLM.
I gave up with KLM after just getting auto-response emails (I do understand they're under pressure, but I didn't want to be out of pocket)
I ended up claiming for both outward & return flight with my CC company, who refunded straight away.

On a positive note with KLM.  They cancelled my flights for May 2020 to USA and at the time communication was difficult.  I accept a voucher (£900 +) as that seemed to be the easiest option then.  Two days before Christmas I asked for a refund of the voucher and money was in my account on 28 December.
