Pre-pay meter replacement

Hi
I recently moved in to a property with an EDF pre-pay meter in it. I have phoned EDF several times over the last month trying to get the unit swapped out with a credit or smart meter. Each time they sure but no availability. Can't tell me when any slots might become available just keep calling.  Absolutely not interested.
Everything is electric (heating, cooking etc) so ideally want to move on to a cheaper rate with a credit meter.
Any suggestions on how to try and speed this along? I'm tempted to switch to SSE and see if they have any better luck.  Obviously with another national lockdown in effect this becomes even more difficult.

Thanks

Huw

Submit a formal complaint (via snail mail, getting a free certificate of posting) that you are having to pay more than is necessary; demand that they charge credit meter rates in the meantime if they are unwilling or unable to provide a credit meter.
Ask for a deadlock letter and go to the ombudsman upon receipt or after eight weeks if no such letter is received.

Hi - Thanks, I phoned their complaints department and just like that I have a date and agreement to credit the difference in tariff costs once the meter has been swapped.
