Am I guilty?

Options
Hi all,

So about 2 years ago I took out a contract on a Samsung Note 10 plus 5G phone with a £15 per month sim card, I paid about £700 upftont for the phone but haven't paid for the sim card contract and I forgot about it, am I guilty? (This was from mobilephonesdirect)

Thanks

How could you "forget" to pay the contract , it's set up as a direct debit automatically

If you didn't pay for the service contract, you need to pay now.
Surprised you were not cut off.
£700 for that specification of phone 2 years ago was very cheap.
Has the non-payment gone on your credit file?

I assume that you set up an account with Mobile Phones Direct when purchasing the phone. This information should be within your original purchase order.

I forgot to mention that I have not used the sim or even set it up because I couldn't be bothered with the faffle of switching the number over. The direct debit was also set up but no payment has been taken and there has always been money in my account.... so surely this is not on my part?

I've got my eye on the ball when it comes to my credit score and I've not noticed a single change. Its been going up even after taking it out.

Your credit score is a meaningless made up figure that nobody except you can see, so no point in keep checking it or having your eye on it.

Could it have been you actually purchased a handset, and then also purchased a rolling SIM only contract as well? If the SIM only contract was actually separate, and if you you never activated the SIM then that would make sense?

It really depends on the terms of the original contract, which we do not have to hand. Check that and see what sort of SIM contract it was and that might enlighten you (and all of us, hopefully).

Thanks for all the responses - its been such a long while, I can't even find where I put the sim or information relating to it. I have most likely chucked it out while doing the every so often clear out. I'm just going to take it with a pinch a salt and take whatever happens...
