I have now initiated a return which was accepted immediately by the seller.
If this was my PC I'd be packaging it up now & sending it back but I'm holding back because my inlaws like the machine.

Sorry, misunderstood, thought the OP was still trying to sort it out with Currys via chat and bots and emailing alexander balcock etc.0

Thanks all
I was maybe a bit hasty opening the return as I've just received a reply to my email saying someone from the CEO Support Team will be in touch. (I was a bit hacked off by the bot like replies I was getting to my messages so in frustration hit the return button).
Perhaps a human looking at the situation might result in a resolution that does not include sending the PC back.
I did read somewhere I have 30 days to return the PC which if correct gives me plenty of wiggle time to negotiate. (I'm sure I'll be put right if this timescale isn't correct).
I'll update as to how I get on.
Thanks again. Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???0 -

Thanks again.Edit: this link still suggests you have 10 working days but I am sure it was extended, perhaps my memory is wonky or perhaps the extended return period has now ended. Either way the date will be shown in the case
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/resolving-buying-problems/start-return?id=4041When the seller accepts your return, you'll receive an email to your Messages with the subject “Send the item back”. You'll need to send it back within 10 business days, using tracked postage. Adding tracking details to your return helps protect against delays or issues in the refund process. If you use an eBay returns label, tracking details are automatically uploaded.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Quick update.
Decided not to return the PC as the inlaws like it.
Today, 3 weeks after sending my email complaint, I received a reply with an apology & an offer of a £50 goodwill gesture.
Very happy with outcome as will the auld yins be when I tell them they have £50 coming back their way!Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???1 -
