But you can get reasonable ones for £4 in our discount DIY shop.My spare is this one - https://www.screwfix.com/p/triton-5-position-multi-mode-shower-head-chrome-110-x-210mm/94888Not the cheapest on the market...

twopenny said:The comments about Mira aren't encouraging. I'm looking at an all singing, smart, flush Mira shower for the heady days when I can get someone to install a bathroom
2p, pay no attention to me - I am always in a minority of one when it comes to views on Mira showers!
As an aside, I find the easiest way to clean the shower head is simply to unscrew the head with the shower running and use the flow from the shower hose to back-flush the holes. If you can hold it tight to the face of the head, you get a reasonable backwash pressure and you can see all the grit and debris in the bath. It always results in restored shower pattern for me. The one caveat I would put in to that, though, is that I am in a soft water area, so lime-scale build up is not an issue for my shower head.1 -
Realistically, a 7.5kW shower is a bit weedy for British winter weather. You're never going to get a torrent of hot water out, as the incoming mains water is stone cold. Even my 8.5kW Mira Jump is only just about adequate.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
I'm hugely excited! I had a wonderful hot, strong shower tonight and it's made life a whole lot more cheerful knowing at the end of these freezing, challenging days I can warm up and feel like a human being again..Seems the fancy head was not coping with the flow as this rubbish one give a powerful wider range without much in the way of the changing temperature. Don't think I would notice if I wasn't concentrating on it. Knowing the adjustment is small helped too.I only have one problem now. This head is straight out and sprays too far for the tiny cubical wetting the floor. So I will go and have a look for one with the downward curve and simpler head. Just hoping it isn't the curved shape of the Mira (faces downwards to the centre of the cubical) that is causing the blocked flow and temperature change - but only one way to find out.Meantime you have my overwhealming thanks for helping to work this out. Not to mention all the extra tips I'll keep recorded for possible future use.Couldn't have done it without you

What sort of shower head bracket do you have? Can you not adjust the direction? If you can't, buy an adjustable one.

\it's the original set that came with the shower installed at time of building. That gave me an idea that had been wandering around in my head and got lost in the general mele of things at the mo.It is flexible but won't drop far enough. The cubical is only 30" square and a 12" space from shower head to floor. Angling it lower would mean I loose more space for standing under it but I will look into that, try it and see what happens. Of course I've not long thrown one away that was in the disabled shower in the bathroom! What I could do imediately is get a holder that's attached with 2 screws and fix it to the side of the shower so the flow runs down the other side. Will have to watch it doesn't damage the grout or seal at the bottom but it would be quick and easy and give me more space to move. Saw them in the cheapo DIY store today.
