A small house if this is typical.....0 -
I live in one now but have always heard it called a cluster house. Built in the 90s. Never hear a peep from any of my neighbours.1

Thanks for all the replies - sounds like my guess was right, although as others have said I would have called this a Cluster house. Never heard the term "Quarter House" before so wondered if it had some other meaning.

There are still thousands of Victorian back to backs in Leeds.0 -
I've seen examples of these around (but not usually in) London. People use them as starter homes, seem to prefer them to flats as they're freehold, and more home-like. Not spacious, so I'm surprised to see a two-bed example in this thread.
They're often electrically heated. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I rented one and owned one of these type of houses. Never heard the term “quarter house” but more commonly called a back to back terrace or starter homes. I think they’re great little houses for first time buyers or even downsizers0

My first flat was like this. Was the front quarter of a large old house. Nothing above or below, and we had the main front door with no common parts anywhere (unless you include the parking area and shared garden).
Things to bear in mind - light, safety (fire escape) and ventilation.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
My old village had load built by tarmac home in the mid to late 80's early 90's
they can be called many names but old insurance company used to call them a quasi semi. cluster house is a good name for them. good start homes and all in my old village are 2 bed houses.0
