Refund or replace missing items help please

I purchased a multipack jeans online from River Island, 2 x Jeans 1 black 1 grey for my son =£55.

I was at work when the parcel arrived, He opened it tried on the jeans and wore them the same day.

On my return from work there is only 1 pair of jeans in the parcel not 2.

I have contacted River Island who say as he has worn his Jeans the will not send out the missing pair nor will they do me a partial refund.

Is this correct, where do I stand?

This is their error yet I am paying the price for it.

    No, it's not correct.  I'd take photos of all the packaging, any labels or receipts inside and send it to them.  There may be something on them that hints at why only one pair arrived.
