It is treated 'like' a new build for mortgage purposes, not 'as' a new build. Conversions require warranties like new builds do, but not the same warranties because the standards and requirements are not the same.RPC_2 said:It is classed as a new build for mortgage purposes.

We had a Victorian Terrace which flooded in summer rain, the type which buckets down volumes in a short space of time. It came through the cellar walls and happened once a summer. It was a couple of inches and we just kept everything on crates. We also bought a pump to pump water out so it wasn't sitting.
You will have to check what the insurance questions are. Most said have you ever flooded and included the words surface, groundwater etc tricky0
