Which is the best platform

Hi Guys currently invest on the vangaurd site for the 80/20 ACC fund however I am also looking to dabble in single stock trades that I like the look of as the trades are likely to be under £250 a month total split across 2/3 stocks I want to try get the best for my money in terms of charges etc which can eat up returns.
So which is the best???

There are a number of comparison sites allowing you to model costs, based on choice of wrapper, investment type, frequency, etc, so plug your numbers into sites such as:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5583030using a S&S ISA wrapper if you're not doing so already, but remembering that you can only pay into one per tax year, so ensure that you pick where it'll benefit you the most....

I would probably have your vanguard inside an ISA wrapper, and any small trading outside.  As long as you don't realise more than £12,300 in capital gains for any one year, there should be no tax disadvantages.

In that sense, you could try and sign up to some of the newcomers - free trade and trade212 both offer signup incentives, where you get a free trade worth up to about £100, but in reality its probably worth £10.  You could then sell that and use it to try out their platforms.

As others have rightly pointed out, there is no ‘best platform’ because different investors have different expectations and different requirements.

Another good website to consider the different platforms is: https://www.amorge.co.uk/blog/which-platform-to-use

Also 100% agree with other posters to invest via a Stocks & Shares ISA.

What type of account did you open with Vanguard?  It would have been one of S&S ISA, SIPP (pension wrapper) or general investment account (unwrapped)....
