Oh dear I just yelled at my whole house while on a staff meeting!
Oh dear!  Definitely keeping it real then?1

Did you hear about the woman who went to toilet while on a zoom call and thought her camera was off? Awful...
Thats pretty much exactly what I felt.

  • Gosh I really almost did nothing on my list yesterday! Home schooling, despite the school doing lessons online, is really too much for madam, the expectation is too high and she is struggling, it's affecting her confidence, she's falling behind already and I am practically with her the whole day supporting her with tech issues, when she doesn't understand something and also where she begins to get exhausted trying to encourage her to stay focused. oh is at home today so I will get his opinion but think I will have to approach the teacher next week. Life seems tough atm

CF glad to hear you and oh are on the mend and you got help with your shed. How exciting though!

Today oh is at home so I will get half a day respite from home schooling! I hope to:
    * TOMM
    * doing a tip run as we are wanting to clear out our garage
    * I've logged on and done some banking
    * eat up los - would like to make madam a lovely tea to celebrate getting through the last few days. Might even make her some pancakes for breakfast
    * take dog for a walk
    * I made a headband yesterday but need to unpick it and make it a bit smaller. Also want to think up some ideas for using up more scraps of this fabric
    * get my dress out and pin the alterations I need to make

Ok that will do. Better go and wake madam up

    Morning all!
Hope everything is going well for everyone. Yesterday was a NSD and I'm aiming for today too. I've signed up for a lot of extra shifts this month with the aim of really whacking my credit card down. I worry about getting tired but the shifts are really only available in January so I will just have to deal with it.
    My list today:
    meal plan (forgot yesterday)
    check banking
    iron! Ugh

    Morning folks

@ditty1234 oh dear! There's been some real hoots about zoom. I heard about a lady who flashed her b00bies at her hubby while his camera was on. She wasn't in direct line to the camera but they all saw her in the mirror! My personal one was accidentally switching the camera on in my dressing gown with greasy unbrushed hair. I wasn't feeling too well so I hadn't had chance to get up and showered/dressed. The boys found it hilarious needless to say.

Still slow improvements here. Plus sides: stomach back to normal, appetite fairly normal, enough energy to do a bit of cleaning, dusting etc. Down sides: Still sinus pain, coughing, tiredness but at least it's on the up. Have told work that I should be available for some work from home next week.

... just heard a clattering from the back of the house... jumped up to find a squirrel trying to climb the patio doors! Was pretty funny and cute. Not sure why it was attempting door parkour!

    So, small things today...
:star: B/L/D from stores - no point in anything else as can't taste much anyway! Might as well eat chicken, rice and brocolli - smell is returning slightly. Although my coffee smelled like curry powder which was a little disconcerting and disappointing!
:star: Dust another room. Probably our bedroom. And treat a dab of mold while I'm at it done. Gave it a good clean down
:star: Do some more studying - and speak to my boss again about deferral as it's the last day  - done an hour or so. Will probably do a tiny bit more later. I did. I am a saint. And it's been deferred :)
:star: Bit of knitting - ongoing. I have come to an arrangement with myself about how to deal with the ridiculous blanket commission vs things I want to make. After I complete each pair of blanket squares, I get one evening of crafting MY things.
:star: OH wants to go the the allotment to level the flags ready for the shed. I don't fancy it much in this weather - supposed to be showers on and off today but still, I have waterproofs. I will mostly be standing while OH digs. - def not. OH feeling tired and headachy today

    Have a good one all

    Afternoon all :)
Still cold here, still struggling with motivation :#
Managed a decent dog walk this morning and then came home and did nothing else, apart from ordering something complicated for OH online which took ages as I didn't know the first thing about it. That took ages :/
I have however got my behind in gear this afternoon and given the first floor of the house a clean, booked a shopping delivery for the week after next, planted out the hyacinths whose flowers have now died, done a load of washing at 30 degrees and cleared up the kitchen. Forced hyacinths, according to the books, are supposed to be discarded after flowering, and I used to do this, until I found them trying to grow in the compost heap. I now give them a chance and plant them out. They may disappear for good, or they may come up next year.  They usually seem to. Nothing lost by trying in any case.
I have also contacted the firm who are booked to come out and do an estimate on some work we want done on our freezing, tatty conservatory. They are still coming, checked the time with them as I had lost the piece of paper OH had written the message on, in the run up to Christmas. Expecting them on Monday :)
OH made BLT sandwiches for lunch (possibly due to all my huffing and puffing about his online shopping :D
I have chicken curry left from last night  for dinner. Just need to make something to go with it. Jacket potatoes and a side salad for a change I think!
I need to wash the vintage hyacinth vases that are now empty, and put them away.
Empty the washing machine and put the washing on the airer
And hoover the stairs so that I can put the vacuum cleaner away.

Sounds like everyone has had a fairly calm few days. I hate lockdown in many ways but one of the advantages is that it slows life down. Although my children are in school, most are being home schooled so every one on an even keel.
I had to take the children to get their eyes tested today, one needs new glasses but good old NHS means they're free. Though I then popped into a supermarket and the result is no NSD For me!
from my list o managed to meal plan but that's it. The ironing is still looking at me.....

How to change a car battery for leisure - first you try to walk home with it and realise how much they weigh. Then you have a look under the hood and find thet the old clamp is so rusted that there is a chance it might not come on or even less come back on! Now to watch a video before doing the actal job - more info later.
Update - and I'm back on the road after lots of great help from kind neighbour with tools and grit :-).

Goodness Ditty1234 hope it goes ok!
Cleaned downstairs this morning, so at least feel I have got something done! Also managed a good dog walk as it was neither raining nor icy underfoot (blooming cold though), and listed a few things on ebay. Made sandwiches for lunch to use some of the remaining salad bits. Haven't had a grocery delivery this week as I was struggling to reach the minimum spend, and haven't been to a shop either, so we are getting a bit short of some fresh stuff. Still, I am sure we will manage fine as there are plenty of other things in the larder and freezers.  Delivery expected on Wednesday next week. Dinner tonight will be frittata as I seem to have quite a lot of eggs, oddly enough. Must check banks and update spending book. Also iron a pair of OH's trousers and fold the rest of the washing on the airer and put it away. That is as exciting as it gets I am afraid!

    Afternoon folks!

Have to confess, poor OH was desparate for a pizza last night so we ordered in (budgeted spend though). It seems to have perked him up a bit so back to dinner from stores today. Like you Dawn, I don't really need a big shop as I've been spending so much more this year on food dt click and collect minimums/fear of running out etc. The only thing we really need now is a trip to the butchers. I was planning on going today but we didn't have time.

OH had a bad headache last night and slept in til about 11.30, then by the time he'd had brekkie and I'd had lunch, we went to the allotment to level the slabs for the shed base. I'm pretty tired and achy now but we managed it :) We really need to build the shed tomorrow before the rainy weather sets in. I got ahead of myself with the shed by sorting all the screws out and making labels for all the various long pieces so that we're not trying to sort it at the plot tomorrow.

I think it'll be a veggie curry for tea. Debating now whether to do a bit of dusting while OH is in the bath, or whether to sit with some knitting and rest. Might just dust the spare room - there's not much to dust and I can't get to most of it due to the amount of carp in there at the moment.

Decided to have a day off studying though. Will probably settle to it on Monday.

    Have a lovely evening all
