Hello,
In order to claim the residential nil rate band can this be claimed via iht205 and 435 or does it need to be iht400 and 435?
The reason I am asking is that iht205 makes no mention of residential nil rate band.
The case is of a dom spouse which has died and the remaining spouse is non dom so as the estate is around 420k, using the rnrb would avoid a tax charge at this point.
Regards,

You will you will need to use IHT 400, but you can’t claim it if everything is still going to your father as you stated in a previous thread.0
