Window fitters and lintels

Are window fitters also able to replace lintels?
Had a survey done on a house I am buying and it shows a lintel has failed, causing some cracking. The windows need replacing anyway so can this be done at the same time, or do l need to get a builder in first?
Thanks

Builders. Unless to want some PVC boarding stuck in?

    Builders can also fit windows.

Window fitters will not usually have to replace lintels to may not have the skills and equipment needed, but you may be missing an opportunity if you don't ask the window company you have selected whether they can do it.

Depends on how good you want the face brickwork to look afterwards. Window fitters tend not to be time served bricklayers.

It depends on the window fitters. Ours did a grand job, others may not be so good.

Also depends on the type of lintel required. On my property, the original timber frame provided support for the outer leaf of brickwork. Removing the frame, a steel (a simple 6"x3" angle) needed to be inserted - This was achieved by just removing a brick either side of the opening and wriggling the steel in to place. Removal of the soldier course was avoided, and a great deal of time was saved.
Should a window fitter be checking that a lintel is required ? - Yes. Always. FENSA have been recommending a check for several years now, but not all companies do.
Should a window fitter be installing a lintel ? - If they are competent to do so, yes.
