My elderly and very deaf DM's wants to watch a YouTube recording which has subtitles. It's easy enough on her iPad, however when I get it up on her TV I can't find any settings options to select subtitles.

I've tried a quick internet search but only get general info about subtitles when using a browser.

Can anyone offer a solution please?

Once in the app on TV, play video, pause, go up, next to the channel logo there will be a CC Captions button, select that then scroll down to English. Scroll down once more and the style of captions can be changed.

For anyone else reading not all videos have subtitles, so if you see a three dots next to channel logo instead of CC they are not available for that video.

Thanks both - I would never have found this and didn't know about three dots v CC.  I've not had need to show YT on TV before so this info is brilliant and I did it easily.

Bear in mind the auto subtitles can be nonsense, and not what is being said .
