Afternoon all! I was a bed late, up late person today. I started watching Aliens and kind of got into it so three episodes later it was 2 o clock in the monring...Will try to avoid that tonight. I made the ham and leek pie with some puff pastry I bought after Christmas last year at YS prices, three packs, which I used this year to make the sausage rolls and now the pie. So I'm very gradually running the stocks down
We have that again tonight with cabbage and sprouts, yes, I know, double brassica attack! Totally worth it, I love all kinds.I am hoping, very unlike me, that the snow, if there is any, stays off until after Thursday when our wood delivery comes. Well, we'll see anyway, can't worry for three days for nothing. Our decorations will be coming down 12th night, I like to get as much out of them as the effort to put them up took, and this year, I may leave a set of fairies twinkling somewhere.Today, no plans, the crochet is going badly, i start off trying a stitch only to get confused, unpick it, start again , ad infinitum. And I think I'm getting a bit stir crazy. I might do that thing that I usually avoid at all costs and go for a walk. Right, off to have breakfast, stay well, stay sane....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13 -
Good afternoon everyone
It's definitely not as cold today as I have only just put the heating on. I was up at sparrow-fart again so I made the most of the quiet and made dinner for Phoebe and the grandchildren as they are here till 9pm. I also taught my grand daughter how to make bakestones so we have just sampled a couple for lunch.
I am very tired now but I want to carry on with my knitting now my mojo has returned. I'm making a couple more baby dragons in sparkly green and white. I shall find a couple of matchsticks for my eyes and plough on.
Our chest freezer died a death a couple of nights ago so I am in the process of using up as much as possible. Fortunately Steve noticed before all the meat defrosted but we had to chuck away some open bags of veggies and a couple of bags of ice as we couldn't fit them in our little fridge freezer. We have a new one coming on Thursday as we found it very handy to have one as an over-spill and if we have any bargains.
I am going to make dinner tonight for Steve, myself and Lee. We are having Viking pork from the new Pinch of Nom cookbook, green beans and sliced potatoes. I also promised to bake a cake for the kids so I am going to make a pineapple and cherry sponge. I think I should sleep better tonight!
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Afternoon everyone
Well eldest DD got home safely, after a very long day yesterday. The airports were really quiet and her flight from Edinburgh to Amsterdam only had 15 people on it. Her form saying she was negative was checked several times and her work contract and resident's permit were checked at Stockholm airport to allow her back in - big sigh of relief!
Youngest DD unfortunately was taken into hospital yesterday - they think she has a really severe kidney infection and her blood pressure was sky high again. She's on an antibiotic drip and has a catheter and is feeling very uncomfortable and very very sad as it is little one's 2nd birthday today. No idea yet when she will get home but little one will stay with me and a friend of DDs will help so I can go back to work for some of my shifts next week. I was hoping that Boris would announce that primary schools and nurseries wouldn't open yet, but no ...so I'm back at work on Tuesday.
I hope they don't keep her too long , but then again I also hope they get her properly sorted.13 -
dp1 sorry to read about youngest DD, hope she's better asap. Such a shame she will miss little one's 2nd birthday too, but I'm sure she will be in good hands with you. Glad that eldest got back safe and sound.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12
