Morning all
I hope everyone is having a good sleep, i stayed in bed till 9.30 this morning I seem to be getting later and later !! DD and I took the dogs out yesterday managed just over two miles but was completly shattered when I got back so had to have a lay down, dd got a puncture while we were out, there was a warning on the dashboard and the tyre pressure was going down before out eyes so we came straight home after and OH managed to get the wheel off as it was not safe to drive and they took it to the garage, it was really badly split and needed a new tyre £96 !! she only had them put on a month ago !! so an expensive day !!
Today the decorations will come down and be put away for amother year its always a bit gloomy when they some down but much tidier.
I need to have a hairwash and shower today and that will be enough for today as that wears me out.
Not sure about dinner but I made a sausage plait before Xmas so might have that with some mash and veg.
Have good days all xx15 -
Morning all. Thanks for starting us off Ruby. I share the pain of tyres.DP - hope your daughter got off safely.I too slept until about 9.30 this morning, most unusual. I remember having a dream which I was enjoying but, of course, now I've lost it. I've sorted out DM and am back under the duvet as I wander around the net. There's still ice outside. There's a great video of a young girl skating on a frozen pond in Queen's Park on the south side of Glasgow, it's extraordinary. Shows the severe cold of recent days.Nothing much planned for today. I have DM's weekly pill box to fill which means cutting up one particular tablet into quarters. The pill cutter is good but I need to use tweezers to get it right, always a time-consuming job. However, I have the time even if I don't always have the patience. 😀
Just heard Boris talking about stricter COVID restrictions in the future 😱 I really hope it's not needed. Perhaps the predicted Beast from the East will keep everyone indoors?
Anyway, my MSE day is buying nothing. 😇
Happy Sunday to all, keep warm and safe.14 -
Morning all. Slow start here too as didn't get out of bed until after 9am and have just finished my second cup of tea.
Today we are also going to take down the decorations. Not looking forward to hoovering up all the pine needles and no doubt will be finding stray ones for weeks to come. Other than that we are going to have a Sunday roast for a late lunch - probably about 3pm - but the drizzly weather has curtailed my thoughts of going out for a walk.
Looking forward to tomorrow and the start of getting back to normal weeks and a bit of a routine, such as you can at the moment.
Have a good Sunday everyone.15 -
Hello all, we had snow last night, t'was only a light dusting and it was very pretty, but it's disappeared now. We have rain, sleet and snow showers at present and it's blummin cold again.Today I need to bring down the empty xmas boxes and put away the little bits and bobs and the xmas plates/dishes etc. We'll leave the tree, the front door wreath and the mantle garland till tomorrow, the latter will have to be wrestled into it's box, it's like a petulant anaconda
I blinked and somehow this xmas has been and gone.
There is some beef left from New Year's day so I'll get my chef on it, I'd be happy with a bit of stew but he's got other things in mind. Oh well if he wants to play in the kitchen I'm not going to stand in his way, at least I'm not cooking, I seem to have lost my mojo in that dept. There are the last of the party food bits to finish for lunch too so we're set for the day.Hope everyone has a good Sunday.Take care all, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently14 -
Morning all, I was up and about at 5.30 and am about to start on the paper. OH has a casserole on the go for DS and that will be 2 big portions. We will have spaghetti carbonara as we really don't need a massive evening meal and it is cheap to make, plus quick.
We had snow yesterday, it hasn't melted yet but I think it is a little less cold and it looks to be melting slowly.
I might take the decorations down later, usually leave them until twelfth night but I have not felt very festive this year. Must make more effort next time.
Has anyone heArd from nmlc? She's such a regular poster but I don't think I've seen a post here for several days.
Hope everyone is safe and well.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back15 -
We were up later this morning too, although OH got up to let DDog out and went back to bed for a while. My phone informs me that it is 2 degrees, but feeling like -2 outside, reasonably bright though which is cheering. The curry did not get made yesterday, lost momentum and needed to walk into town to buy an ink cartridge for printer, a bit of wrestling with my social conscience meant that I decided to get one from the amazing indie stationery shop here rather than one on line to be delivered on Monday, happy to support them this time, but it meant that it cost me £6 more. Living in a small town in a very rural area is joyous, but it certainly costs more, jobs for local people are important for me and I don’t have much to spend my pocket money on imminently, or indeed in recent months. Sorry not MSE, but that’s how it goes sometimes.
Take care all.

Morning folks and thanks RUBY. Sadly I wasn't a lazy bones, I had the usual silly o'clock wake up. I tried just staying in bed with the radio on but Sparkle was having none of it, she wanted her breakfast and was making pitiful noises to let me know she was a starving cat!. I feel a bit bleurgh this morning, nothing I can put my finger just feeling below bar. So I think a lazy day on the sofa beckons and maybe a nap this afternoon.
I had a big wash load on earlier but that is now festooning the back bedroom. No chance of it getting pegged out in this weather.. We had another blizzard yesterday afternoon, which went on for quite a few hours. Surprisingly the gritter made an appearance mid afternoon and even came on our road (most unusual) so at least the roads stayed clear. But of course we now have more snow piling up on the pavements and gardens. The forecast was for light rain this morning but that hasn't happened so the snow stays for now. I am fed up of it and the blooming cold weather now.
I have some chicken defrosting for my lunch. I don't know what it will be transformed into but it won't be anything too taxing. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Thinking of our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care all and stay safe x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"15 -
Morning
I had a lay in for me till 7 whoop whoop. Wish I could sleep till mid morning but 7 is good for me so got up and put a piece of gammon in the slow cooker with coke to brew all day I'll have some tonight with christmas roasties and veg from the freezer. Its a big piece so plans for soups and various other left over recipes.
Still icy and pretty lethal out there but the sun is on it so hopefully that will disappear soon.
Exciting news here ....a charity bag arrived so I have till Tues to fill it shouldn't be too hard. I'm thinking a shoe cull. I have a few pairs never worn that I know in my heart I will never be able to wear again so someone else may as well enjoy them. Also have lots of books to go.
Nothing much else to report. Big hello to the newbies hope you stay around. As for boring posts I am the master
Have a good day all

Morning all!
Thank you for your warm welcome to me and the other newbies around here!
Well I’ve actually been pretty productive so far today which hopefully means I can be pretty unproductive this afternoon and watch TV!
I have prepped lunch which was easy as it’s some lightly dusted basa fillets with rice, broccoli and green beans followed by jelly and yoghurt. Hopefully a good start to me eating slightly better over the coming days!
I was also back on the porridge this morning but, as it’s cold today, it was just what the doctor ordered!
Gers – I feel your pain with the tablets! I sorted my DFs tablets this morning and some of them are tiny so really difficult to pick up. I think they believe this makes them easier to take but actually sometimes he isn’t sure whether he has swallowed them or not as they are so small!
I am trying to get back into reading my kindle so my MSE activity today will be to look for some free or 99p books to download. I tried reading some self help books but, whilst I did find them interesting, I realised that I really do enjoy reading fiction for some relaxation and escapism so back to that now!
Have a great Sunday everyone.
