Jeepers you know what my neighbour is like! Gutter, anyone?!I don’t know for sure so I certainly wouldn’t say anything. I’m sure any potential buyer would be a bit braver than me anyway, I’m terrified of him but that’s just because I’m on my own!0 -
I'm sure this point has been covered before... Planning Permission expires after three years if no work has been started. As the foundations, slab, and (some) brickwork has been completed, the PP is still active. You, or the next owner, can take as long as they like to complete the extension. Sodall the neighbour can do about it to prevent work continuing.CatLady87 said: The previous seller did note that foundations were laid but the build wasn’t carried out and my solicitor picked up on this as well. I’ve got the original PP which has now expired so I’ll include that with the deeds.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Good point FB :-)In any case, if it was given PP at some point, it means that it conformed from that point of view so, as FB says, the neighb didn't and doesn't have a leg to stand on.I do wonder if the previous occupant really stopped for that reason? It would seem strange. I mean, it's all legit, all approved, all well under way, lots of money spent - you'd stop because you had a belligerent neighb?!Yes, CatLady, I certainly recall that thread! But it all worked out, didn't it? The neighb accepted the correct solution? He ain't all bad...BUT, just don't mention the remote possibility that the work was halted due to the neighb. You don't know if it's the case, it's unlikely to be the case, so it would be silly to breathe a word when you come to sell. The new owner should have no issues continuing with this.0
