Morning all.
Quite bright here today, even sun trying to get through. It should make me feel like leaping about and DOING THINGS. Not sure what happened there then.
I'm about to stroll down to the shop for my paper. Then back here to drink coffee, read the paper and do the puzzles. It's all go, isn't it?
The house could do with a bit of attention, but thank-you lockdown, no one will see it but me and I have selective vision where housework is concerned.
Enjoy your weekend if you can people.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi everyone,
Late again today, Esben has just gone for a nap, he's been quite sad this morning because his mouth has been bothering him, he must have a very sensitive mouth he's had a horrible time with all his teeth. I need to pop out for a few bits, because Laura used the butternut squash last night for Esben's dal and I need some for tonight's meal, a veggie option from the Roasting Tin around the world, one dish meals that are really easy. Laura got it for Christmas and we have already had one meal from it and will be having two more this weekend. I've already bought another in the series and the recipes look just as good.
I want to take the decs down today, much to Laura's dismay but they're starting to look a bit tired now. I wonder if Esben will miss the tree.
Welcome to any newbies and you will see that my posts are intensely boring, like so many my life has shrunk in the last year to home, the occasional walk and trips to the supermarket which are going to stop again from tomorrow because we have reinstated deliveries to try to stay as safe as possible.14 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS for the new Daily. I'm late to the party today as, after much dithering and wondering whether to brave the frozen snow, I decided to get the first Saturday bus down to town as usual. I have a Tesco delivery next week but I needed a top up of fruit and salad bits to put me on. And a couple of granary loaves. Blooming heck it was bitterly cold despite the blue sky and sunshine. Waiting for the bus down we had a beautiful view of Ilkley Moor, still full of snow and bathed in sunshine.
Just 'cos I could, whilst we are still in Tier 3, I had a browse round one or two other shops as well. I took a fancy to a lovely blouse in the Next sale but talked myself out of it. Then berated myself even though I won't be going anywhere any time soon to wear it! So I retraced my steps and bought it after all. It was a bargain so couldn't refuse - my MSE contribution for today!!
I got all the decs and cards etc down yesterday, then dusted away lots of glitter and dust before giving a good vacc round. The boxes are now in the small bedroom waiting to go back up in the loft - not by me! After lunch I need to make a big pan of lentil and bacon soup, to bag up and freeze, as I left the gammon stock out defrosting overnight in readiness.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Thinking of our poorlies, sad and worried. Take care one and all and stay safe x

Gers I've just seen that John Bishop, yes the comedian one, is joining Dr Who as a companion. I watched the special last night and thought it was a tad better than all of the last series, the Dr didn't seem so manic.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -

And yes, I agree, the programme was easier to watch and follow than the first series with JW.TA - you're brave going into town on the bus in this weather. Hope that you've warmed up now.Snoozer - that book sounds interesting, I'll have a look at it, thanks. Anything which takes the faffing around out of cooking is a winner.Lunch for DM is about to be made. I've just finished off the remainder of the left-over venison and red cabbage, for such a small looking joint it went a long way. Once DM is settled with her friend I'm going to sit and listen to my audiobook, got a new one on the go.15

Afternoon all, if t is very cold here and we have had more snow, though it has not settled. I think it is starting again as I type.
I am stuck on the crossword now and am going to do something else so that my subconscious brain gets a chance to work out some of the clues.
Made a pizza last night, a pleasant change from all the rich food.
I have spent half the morning thinking it was Tuesday, New Year's Day always feels like a weekend day to me.
Not much happening here, have done some boring routine jobs and fed the birds, now I'm going to relax and get on with my knitting. Not sure why I decided to do a baby jumper with 5 panels on the front, 3 are complex cables but at least 2 are just moss stitch. I've made this one a few times, looks pretty but not sure that the effort is justified, especially when I've had to redesign the sleeves and part of the neckline. Oh well, it will be nice and warm.
Take care in the ice and snow, perhaps it will keep people indoors.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back13 -
Afternoon everyone
Bella - I'm the one with the daughter on her way back to Sweden. She's at Edinburgh now - on her way to the airport so hopefully her journey will go smoothly.
I felt very sad when she left, as I have no idea when I'll see her. If everything goes to plan she'll move to Germany sometime in March - hopefully I'll go to visit in the summer.
Little one stayed last night - we've spent the morning playing with a little wooden kitchen and food I bought her for her birthday tomorrow. DD and I decided it didn't matter if she had her presents from me a day early as they are to stay here for her to play with. She was especially excited by the wooden cheese and getting saying she was having a tasty snack!
Hope everyone has a good day - wet and miserable here13 -
Hi everyone
It sounds as if everyone is getting themselves back to normal now which is what I'm in the process of doing. I've been pottering around cleaning, washing, ironing and cooking today in the hope of not having to do too much tomorrow as it's my last day off before work so I'm hoping for a little bit of a rest!
I'm actually looking forward to being back at work even if it is from home as I thrive on routine and feel generally quite uncomfortable when things are not "normal"!
I am someone who usually sets lots of goals and resolutions at new year but I feel that this year I will just have one which will be to give myself a break! I'm sure many of us are in the same boat of having a lot going on. I am currently looking after my DF as well as working full time and running the house (which I am trying to do on a budget). I think putting any extra pressure on myself could well backfire so I am choosing to be kind to myself this year!
Having said that, I will be watching the pennies and I do need to cut down on what I'm eating and get a bit of weight off! Just getting back to eating normally and reducing my portions slightly should do the trick hopefully. Reading about others making soup has given me some inspiration to do the same as that will be a great idea for my lunches and very economical too.
