Please Recommend a Comfy Mattress Protector

Never had one before, but looking to get a mattress protector. To obviously protect the mattress but mainly to really enhance the average mattress with something really comfy on top. Don't need anything too bulky so I can still use standard fitted sheets.
Can anyone recommend any particular products that they have tried or use and that they really like?

It depends on your view!A lot of places say protector for both but other protector is a thin sheet to protect the matteress and a topper it the thick comfy type.If the materess is not comfy enough a topper helps, just avid the 'orrible memory foam nonsense as they are naff and cheap. (same goes for matteress's).Aldi do them from time to time and I have really liked them. Failing that Asda are not bad. There are other options of course but thoses are the cheaper ones.(disclaimer, I hate fitted sheets and would never use one as I like a thick decent materess and that alone makes them a pain! I buy a plain sheet of the next size up as that makes it even easier to use! (That's the norm right? Duvet and plain sheet are always one size over the bed/materess size. Just makes life nicer)).1

Interesting, so you obviously have a sheet of some sort to lie on. But "make" bed sheet base using a flat sheet (plain sheet)? Is that right? I always thought everyone used a fitted sheet for the base, but interesting option.I hate fitted sheets and would never use one as I like a thick decent materess and that alone makes them a pain! As for what I need, perhaps it is then a "mattress topper". Any suggestions on brands and models welcome for them as well.0
