Strange about Wednesdays cuppa. I found Thursdays in the first lockdown hard when everyone was out clapping fpr the NHS. It felt like NYE and I thought I should have a drink.CuppaTea said:Also I think it would be helpful if I subscribed to the thread to get notifications about new posts. Another reason I went AWOL was forgetting to log in. I have had a look in my profile and around this thread but I can’t see a way to do it. Please can someone advise me? Thanks.
If you click on your own username on the left, it'll take you to your own page and there's a menu that lists notifications. Unfortunately clicking on it doesn't seem to do anything! I know when the new format started people were being notified constantly for everything so maybe it's been disabled. Maybe Cathy can advise. 🤔
All I've done is bookmark the AF thread (and a couple of others that I follow regularly). At the top of the posts on each page there's an 'Unbookmark' button to do that. Then when I log on I just click on the bookmark icon at the top right of any page and it brings up my favourite threads.4 -
Friday 19th and 12/24 please. Not fancying a drink tonight. Well in fact, or day!

Wife gave me wine earlier and I drank it without thinking. Ah well it is the weekend.
Nothing to see here, move along.4 -

Cuppa and maman, agreed about bookmarking the thread and also about the notifications - they're not in the menu you see when you click your name though, you have to go to your profile, in the very top right corner of the page, click on that, then "edit profile", then that takes you to a page with a lot of options on the left including "notification preferences". If you click on "notification preferences", that goes to a page with options including "Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in". You can ask to be emailed, but it ends up being quite a few emails, as maman says. Maybe popup would be better? ... it brings up a message that someone has commented but then the message vanishes again. It's like a little reminder.maman said:

Thank you Maman, I also noted the notification option didn’t do anything. I’ll have a look at the bookmark.maman said:
