Satchmo sorry to hear of being wiped out - hope you are feeling better quickly.WBF well done on drawing that line.Marahouti, Rob I too will be joining the SP club this year. I was upset about the extra 5 years although there was some logic but this extra year really annoys me especially when friends only a little older have been getting SP for a while.Trying to get back on board so AF for last night and intend to be so tonight. However given recent abysmal efforts I'll declare that tomorrow I hope. 6/15 please.3

Good morning all, good to see more people shunning the festering Satan's bile (I'm in philosophical mood today).
Maggie - I understand that, my brother got his bus pass at 60 and that was in 2008 - Grr! That ties in with my b'day plans, oddly - my first trip will be an all-day thing - see how far I can get in one day for free! I think I can get the express to Stansted Airport and head north from there. Final destination - not a clue! Stay at Holiday Inn or similar then travel back next day, I'll make a short film of my adventure - but need the SP first.
As for my birthday itself - a friend has her 65th the same week so we'll go for a curry and I'll go to Lewes (Sussex) for a day.
Football bit here so feel free to skip this paragraph! Lewes v. Worthing could be a promotion decider in the Isthmian Premier - Worthing are top, Lewes 4th, no real chance (you'd think looking at the table) of the title but you never know. Play-offs for sure (There's the kiss of death). I expect a crowd of at least 1,500, double our average. Would be great - new National League South stadia to visit! Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!3 -

What a great idea to travel as far as you can with your new bus pass @RobM99. It'll be interesting to hear about your journey. 🤞🏼 for the football.
Driving tonight so no temptation. I'm so pleased I cracked the 'opening a bottle when I got home' habit. Now I just make straight for the kettle. 😊
11/10 AFDs please @cathybird4 -

Good afternoon everyone.
My husband and I are having lunch in Oxford and then going to a matinee performance of Private Lives on 5 March (matinees are what retired people do, they can't keep awake in the evenings 😂). The following day (my actual birthday) I hope to see my daughter, son in law and granddaughter; assuming they have a new car by that time, Storm Eunice dropped a large tree on their old one 😬.Wanna_Bee_Free said:Checking in to confirm 3/13 achieved this evening. The line is well and truly drawn. Maman, Rob, AllNightDiner & Marahouti thanks for your supportive comments. Any big birthday plans Rob & Marahouti? I'm only a dozen or so years behind you both. Totally in denial here.
Satchmo, sorry to hear you feel so rough. Hope the check and consultation help.
22/25 please cathybird. Thank you. X3 -
Feeling heaps better yesterday and today, thanks friends in the box :-)
21/24 for me today, please.
Re bus passes - in the Merseyside region we get a travel pass at 60, which is fabulous. Free travel encompasses Southport to Chester. We can take our little dog and go to the seaside for the day. My oldest brother was a tad upset that he had to wait until he was 65, as he lives in posh Lytham St Annes (hee hee). What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3
