Morning, booze-dodgers! 21/28 and a new emoji for me - WootWoot! 323 days since any imbibement, a year is in sight. Birthday next week (To be read like a Limerick - "I'm officially old, I'm officially old, I get my pension and my bus pass, I'm officially old!").There, didn't that brighten your day?
Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!
  • I'm up to 20 days this month.

6 week and 1 day of no drinking.  Feeling good about it and wondering why I wasted so much time just sitting on the sofa drinking.

But the all inclusive has been booked for later in the year.  Not sure of my ultimate plan, but I'm just not sure I can go for two weeks in the sun (when I only go on holiday every four years or so it would appear) and not drink.  Which I know in itself sounds bad, but I will see how I feel closer to the time.

I'm still taking things one day at a time and not making any rash decisions, and I'm happy at the moment to be drink free.  Until that changes, I'm going with it.

    I'm on 20/24 now

I lost yesterday: honestly I was just a husk, no intelligent life could be detected, not through the dreaded alcohol, but I think my blood count will be way off base when I have my regular check on Wednesday ahead of a haematology consultation the following week.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Good afternoon everyone. Lots to comment on.

WBF sorry your holiday was so disappointing. Well done for drawing a line under things and getting back on track. X

Rob I think we are of a similar age. I will officially be 'old' and get my pension and bus pass in a couple of weeks. Unlike you I will probably have a drink to celebrate getting my SP only 6 years 😠 later than expected. X

pollyanna great to have booked a holiday. You and your daughters must be looking forward to it. Most AI hotels have a wide selection of AF drinks if that's what you decide to do. Even if you don't I can almost guarantee that having laid off alcohol for so long you will drink a lot less than you did. X

satchmo I'm so sorry you are feeling so drained. I really hope your consultation produces some answers and treatment. Take care. X

I am 21/25 please cathybird. Thank you. X

  • Checking in to confirm 3/13 achieved this evening. The line is well and truly drawn. Maman, Rob, AllNightDiner & Marahouti thanks for your supportive comments. Any big birthday plans Rob & Marahouti? I'm only a dozen or so years behind you both. Totally in denial here.

Satchmo, sorry to hear you feel so rough. Hope the check and consultation help.
