An eventful day yesterday:

My ultra sensitive "bat ears" helped rescue my downstairs 91-year-old neighbour yesterday afternoon when she fell in the bath. She used her alert button, and I heard the operator repeatedly asking her if she was ok. Total failure by alert company, who didn't ring her next of kin as they should have done. Thankfully, neighbour keeps an accessible spare key. Thankfully she hadn't injured herself. The bath grab rail had come off when she was trying to stand up. The bath isn't that old, maybe 3 years old, so I said a complaint should be lodged with the installer - lovely feisty neighbour was definitely ready for that!  Heaven knows what would have happened if I hadn't heard the commotion.
