Giving Up/Cutting Down Alcohol Thread Part 17

Honey Bear who managed to give up completely always swore by Becks Blue. I'm not a beer drinker so can't really comment. I've never bothered with alcohol free wine as I'd prefer to cut down and drink the real stuff when I choose to. I definitely don't want soft drinks with empty calories and no alcohol! 🤣

I have tried a couple of beers, beck blue is ok drank out of the bottle but not from a glass (don't know why that works). I had some Baveria 0% beer that mostly went down the sink, it was awful. My wife wanted some wine so we tried Nosecco that tasted like Shloer and a bottle of Mc Guigan zero Chardonnay which was too sweet (read horrible).I mostly drink tonic with lime or lemon and pretend there is gin in it.25/31Nothing to see here, move along.4

Things went downhill and I didn't manage my 8th day AF until today
Steameh, welcome to the list and good luck with the rest of dry Januray. I have had Becks Blue in the pub as a change. I often have lime and soda or tonic on it's own and I am addicted to Belvoir's ginger and lemongrass drink. I haven't liked any of the AF wines I've tried; cold Schloer is nicer.3 -
I've tried Beck's Blue, Peroni 0% and some other crap. I find Heineken 0% the best, make sure it's ice cold and you can barely tell... until it warms up a little but by that time I've drunk most, if not all.
Just wondered what peoples thoughts are on drinking them as a replacement? Do you find they take the craving away?
I feel soooo much better not drinking alcohol at the minute, I've more energy, clearer head, less mood swings. My overall aim is to just drink when I'm out or entertaining people at homeEMERGENCY FUND CHALLENGE - £2,292.05 / £6000

Hello, Monday was 24/28. The street party was good, I was very nervous as I don't really know my neighbours and there's a language barrier too but a couple of beers and I relaxed... then the menfolk asked me to try their homemade ginseng vodka. I see this as a public service as I can now let you all know that it is to be avoided if at all possible.
I have my work new year party on Friday but I think that'll be it for me for January so hoping to beat my target

Welcome Steameh, good luck with the cutting down. Regarding AF (alcohol free) drinks, I have never tried it but a friend swears by Adnams Ghost Ship Zero beer and he always has that when he’s driving. Might be worth a look as an alternative to Becks etc?
I allowed a few days for drinks this month but when the restrictions changed it obviously nerfed the couple of social things that I did have planned and I have had no urge at all to drink at home, so am currently 25/29 please cathybird. If I hadn’t had a couple of drinks on New Year’s Day this would actually have been an (unplanned) AF month.3 -
