Is it just me, or does anyone else think a six pounds 99 charge for any delivery is excessive ?

Not really , minimum wage is well above that , you pay for the honour of having someone drop it at your door . It's not , and never will be, free or cheap , it's a businessEx forum ambassador

Of course it costs the supermarket nothing to hire staff to pick and pack and then deliver your shopping in special vans. With no extra charges on actual food so they charge for delivery.5 years ago these articles were suggesting it was costing supermarkets between 300-500 million to offer home delivery. Can't see its any cheaper now to offer the same service. But then I have been told I don't know what I am talking about and if they were making a loss they would not offer it. Wonder why the charges have gone up.YoursCalley xHope for everything and expect nothing!!!

Have you looked into their delivery passes? They don't deliver to my area, but I saw they do a midweek pass for £6.99 a month with a few extra benefits - so if a regular delivery costs that then you may as well get that instead, if you can cope with a midweek slot. Even if you only get a single delivery in a month it won't cost any extra.
I think it was Asda where I first noticed this 'trick' as the slot I wanted was a fiver but a month pass was £4 or something similar, and Tesco certainly works out cheaper when you pay for a pass with clubcard points. It's currently costing me £7 in vouchers every six months with Tesco, which is pretty darn cheap.

Don't understand this thread. If £6.99 is too much then either
a. switch to a supermarket that charges less or
if that is unacceptable
b. be old fashioned and visit one taking your mask with you.1
