NewDay Direct Debit plus Manual Payments

I've a NewDay Marbles card and I have a direct debit set up for the minimum payment to make sure it is at least paid each month.

Now when I login to make an extra manual payment, it says that the direct debit will be reduced by that amount if I make a payment now. So does that mean as the minimum payment was £22, and I make a manual payment of £50, they won't collect the direct debit as I paid more than the minimum payment? As that's not what I want to do, I want to pay £50 off on top of the £22 direct debit they will collect for minimum payment.

If they reduce DDs by the amount of a manual payment and you want to pay £72 in total then just make a manual payment for £72?

If you are paying more than 3 days before the DD is due, then you need to pay £72. If it's less than 3 days £50 will do, as DD will still take £22 = £72 total payment.

So you just need to know the DD date.
