Service Charges on new build developments

I have a freehold house on a mixed (flat/house) development of 40 properties.

I brought a property 10 years ago and I’m been paying service charge (£200 a year).

Is they way I can stop paying this service charge? It doesn’t benefit me and we can’t use the space or parking

    You've probably signed a deed with the management company in which you agreed to pay the service charge.

    So you have to pay the service charge - unless you can persuade the Management company to agree to change the agreement (which is extremely unlikely).

    However it's worth looking back at the agreement your signed.
    What exactly does it say?
    If there is any mention of a service you are entited to, but not receiving, in return for the fee, then clearly you have a case to complain.

    I have the same arrangement, except I could use the shared parking if I wanted, (but mine is one of only two with a garage & 2 car driver, so I dont). It's in the deeds that residents agree to pay the fees, I think for 88 years. You may class the fact that the areas (should) be maintained, thus preserving the value of your property?
    Our company is run by the resident and inevitably, some don't bother paying. Depends how much chasing you expect them to do if you refuse to pay, but it will all catch up with you when you sell
