There's a young adults/teen fiction section in most libraries. Might be something in there he fancies?2
-
Thanks for the ideas on books. He managed to find a couple more sections to look in and also he is allowed to bring home from the library at school. I'm trying to get the kindle magazines and books organised as well. Also, I managed to get a grant from a local trust, set up in our town by a lady who didn't have anyone to leave her estate to, so she left it to the children of the town. It's to support them to achieve at a high level and I'm just delighted that they awarded ds1 £200 towards his international tournament. He has got to know a couple of the other players over social media and we have had some really interesting conversations about real wealth and what life is about (I.e not Ferraris or Gucci trainers!).Anyway, in money saving and making news:
1. Passed my yoga teaching qualification
2. passed 3 modules of science (making myself more integral at work)
3. Started with one new tutoring client
4. Have been using the work cars
5. Have got the club L account and received 6 cinema tickets for rainy winter weekends.6. I've been doing lots of olio collections which has really reduced my food bill.In other news I joined a winter wild swim challenge 50 swims before March. I'm also going to do 100 yoga classes and pick up 50 bags of rubbish from the beach. That should keep me busy!!Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k5 -

Fantastic goals indeed, and how lovely DS was able to get that grant. What a lovely idea for a legacy actually! I don't have kids and often wonder who or what I'll leave my vast millions to when I go 😂😂 Never considered anything like that, so thanks for mentioning it. Not sure how far it'd go, and of course it won't go anywhere if I die before Mr Cheery 🙄 but something to think about 😊4

Hi apple! How lovely of you to check on me!I've completed about 12 of my winter swims but I'm safely on land right now.
Money wise all is pretty good. £200 in from a back switch, the same due next week I hope. We have been doing free things, including being gifted n flicks from the niece whose wedding flowers we bought. We are using the library for all books and living quite frugally. All Christmas presents bought earlier in the year, except for the kids so I'm bracing myself for the Christmas lists but I dont think they are wanting anything too expensive. Perhaps do that this afternoon. In terms of money making, I have a new client for 3 hours per week until June which is excellent. I'm doing about 6 hours per week which I think is ideal, as it still gives me some time to work on other income streams.I've found that I'm working much better in 2 hour blocks of really intense work. I seem to get more done that way so I'll try to continue this week. then at weekends I can really relax with a book, walk, swim and see friends. To do
