What are my options if I disagree with the insurance claim being rejected

Our house insurance is with Bradford & Bingley which is underwritten by Fairmead Insurance. We had some damp seaping through the corner wall in dining room. I raised a claim and was told it would be assessed by BVS (Building Validation Services). The damp was identified in Sept and I am still fighting with BVS. A Leak detection service was appointed, Polygon identified secondary water damage to dining room wall due to a long term slow leaking pipe under kitchen sink as well as overflow pipe gushing water down wall due to failing ballcock in hot water tank. These have been rectified but BVS disagree with findings stating it's rising damp therefore not covered. Where do I go from here?

If you disagree then raise a complaint with the insurer.

And if a complaint doesn't work, sue them.

Did you read the T+C as most insurers will not cover things that happen over time, such as a long standing leak. Even premium ones such as HIscox, Chubb also don't cover

The problem now is as you have raised a claim, even though they rejected it, it may raise your future premiums with your current and future providers
