Just had appendicitis - do I need to inform Travel Insurance company (Holiday booked for April)

Options
Hi there
I've just had appendicitis, three days in hospital and cleared up with antibiotics, no surgery needed.
Do I need to tell my travel insurance company? I already have a few medical conditions already declared and covered.  Is it likely to increase my premium and if it flares up again and I need surgery between now and the trip is this likely to impact my insurance?
Thanks for any help, I've tried to search online and cannot find an answer.

I wish I knew more than I do!! :)

Read the Terms & Conditions of your policy.  It will probably require you to inform them of any changes (do it in writing and get their reply in writing.  Don't rely on the opinions of strangers on the internet who haven't seen your policy - some would say 'no', they could be wrong; some will say 'yes', they could be wrong.

Your first port of call would be to check your documents and as mentioned I suspect they woul want to be informed.

Depending on your insurer they might have a way to contact them online, use that and just ask them if they need to be informed if you have recently had an operation, if they do then write to them.

You have had hospital treatment, you need to call them and declare.

Yes, you would need to inform them.
My daughter had it a few years ago and had them removed. We rang to tell them and they just made a note but no increase in costs. We had to inform our insurance for two years after it happened and then it was no longer classed as relevant.

Two different scenarios, the OP did not have surgery, so it has to be classed as an existing condition.
