Ryanair rip off

Ryanair were offering to move the flight to a date in the future, waiving their usual change fee. Was this not an option?
When did you book the flight?0 -
Does it not occur to you that some of those on these ‘scam’ flights are foreign nationals and their families that are legally allowed to travel? It’s not daylight robbery, you’re attempting to travel in a pandemic and should be prepared for things to go wrong; even more so if the flights were booking during the pandemic itself.Ryanair have done nothing wrong - entry requirements and Government restrictions are YOUR problem, not theirs.2

Did you take out any insurance when you booked the flights ?Alisonmenis said:The flight ‘conveniently’ went ahead to avoid them having to cancel the flight but as the airport is in Tier 4 and Spain won’t let UK citizens enter their country, not giving a refund is underhand.

So they spent about £30k on crewing, fuelling and then flying to Spain to save having to pay £3-4k in refunds?Alisonmenis said:The flight ‘conveniently’ went ahead to avoid them having to cancel the flight but as the airport is in Tier 4 and Spain won’t let UK citizens enter their country, not giving a refund is underhand.

The operating costs of a 737-800 from London to Spain is nowhere near £30k.unforeseen said:

A theoretical London to Northern Spain flight would come in at around €8k plus airframe costs (maintenance is included though) for an A320 on this route, and that's in both directions, or around €22/seat one way.
Edit: That's excluding APD, and a rough guess for new A320CEO operating an average flight length of about 2h30 for the financing costs (with no bulk discounts) would add around another €8 to this figure. Many of Ryanair's aircraft are fully paid for or on much more competitive terms.💙💛 💔0 -
I was thinking that too - not Earth, that’s for sure...unforeseen said:
