It's not that surprising. Coal generated electricity was the primary source until only a few years ago, and whilst much of that would be rail then the chart may well refer to all transport methods. If we assume that wagons hold 20 tonnes and an average trip is 50 kilometres then if all of that were road then it's 8 million trips, so I suspect a significant proportion would be rail, especially as the rail trip would be hauling hundreds of tonnes each time, maybe low thousands.Grumpy_chap said:What do those charts show please Adrian?
