My understanding was that as soon as the amount left my bank, the bank cannot recall

Recall isn't what you want.  You need to dispute these transactions (although I am still unclear as to how many have actually gone through).  

Ring your bank.

You have no goods but moeney has left your account, your bank should be first port of call, not the forums.
