Investec Fixed Term Bond Maturing Next Month

I have a 2 year bond maturing next month and have just received the re-investment options.
In fact the "s" at the end of options is superfluous as there is only one option which is to re-invest in a 12 month bond at 0.7%.
Having just visited the bank's website, it is apparent that there are now no fixed term products available for application by new customers whatsoever, not even an easy access savings product.
This is rather putting me off re-investing, even at the paltry rate of 0.7% and I think I might just have the funds returned to my nominated bank account.
Does anyone have any insight into Investec's reluctance to continue this line of business please? Thought I'd pose the question on here first before I speak to the Bank direct.

Simple answer is they don't want/ need your money, the only question for you is can you get more than what they offering elsewhere at a level of risk acceptable to you.0
